If you’ve been following me since a while, you surely know that in 2012 I took the Dressember challenge and wore nothing but dresses during all month!
Dressember Day 1 – 2012
But you will ask me what’s the purpose of it?
Dressember uses fashion to advocate for women who’ve been exploited for their femininity. As women take on the creative challenge of wearing a dress for the 31 days of December, they are advocating for the inherent dignity of all women.
Dressember exists to inspire and empower a global community of like-minded women who are locking arms to face one of the greatest injustices of our time.
The heart of Dressember is dignity– that every woman has the right to live a vibrant and free life.
So what do you think, shall I take the challenge again this year?
I will be checking the votes by the end of the day to decide!
A while ago, I was invited to attend the #electrofit full body workout session with Trainstation, that was held at White Beirut.
If you didn’t see my previous post about Trainstation, the uniquely designed wellness and fitness studio, go here.
The event was in collaboration with Juice up and part of the proceeds went toMeeda.
For the first time in Lebanon, the Trainstation trainers provided a full body workout session to the sounds of the best house tunes with DJ Stamina.
I loved the idea of the session, wearing sports wear to White!
MEEDA is the first non-profit association dedicated to raising awareness, providing support and guidance to all people in the community that are suffering from any kind of eating disorder in Lebanon and the region.
The K-Lynn Pledge encourages the women of the Middle East to get regular check-ups and screenings where necessary; taking care of themselves and their bodies – as well as supporting the women in their lives.
For the first time, women across the region can now take the K-Lynn Pledge on the K-Lynn website www.klynn.com, meaning that everyone can pledge to look after themselves and the women in their lives, wherever they may be based. The K-Lynn Pledge button will be live from 1-31 October, in line with the activations taking place on ground in the UAE.
“2013 is the third year of the K-Lynn Pledge,” says Tanya Ivin, Marketing Manager of K-Lynn Lingerie. “As part of this annual drive, we want to ensure that we can share the integral concept of the K-Lynn Pledge to women across the region, allowing everyone to take the K-Lynn Pledge, which is why we have introduced the Pledge button on the K-Lynn website www.klynn.com. We’re delighted to be activating the K-Lynn Pledge in association with Cosmopolitan Middle East magazine’s Cosmo Commits campaign, raising awareness about breast cancer care, as well as running bra donation activations across our UAE stores.”
It’s an interesting initiative, but too bad it’s just for the UAE, hope in the years to come something like that will cover Lebanon also.
