I have been blogging for more than 5 years now, and sometimes blogging alone could be a bit boring.

I met an old friend of mine, Nisrette, a while ago. We were together in university, she had her 1st blog in 2013 under the LazyNiss, she used to blog about fitness and Beauty in Arabic. I featured here in one of my #MeetTheBlogger series, you can check it here.

Recently she created a new blog, where she will be blogging about Tips and Tricks for a Smarter Life!

FIVE Things I’ve Learned From My FIVE Years Of Blogging!

Happy Monday everyone!

My day started as normal, having my cup of tea, checking my e-mails, social media channels… Until a lovely e-mail popped into my inbox:

Bonjour Chanty,

Votre blog fête ses 5 ans aujourd’hui !

I smiled and remembered the first day when I hit the button “Creer Votre Blog”.

Back then, I had no idea what a blog is, which platform to choose, how much effort it needed, how to sculpt it, create a fan base, get new ideas… I was clueless!

I remembered how my friend M. was there for me, encouraging me to write and always interacting with me. I remembered the awesome tweeps, who stood by me, helped me when I had a question, favorited and RTed my posts. I remembered that sometimes, I got ideas block and questioned myself if I should stop blogging. But you, my dear readers, were my strength, you gave me hope, courage and confidence! Each time I’m on the streets and someone stops me asking me if I’m Le Blog De Chanty, it gives me pride, and it assures me that I shouldn’t stop Blogging!

Here are 5 things that I have learned from my journey till today!

1- Don’t worry about Blogger’s Block!

who wore it best!

Who wore it best!

You will pass by days, you feel your head is empty, you have nothing to talk about, you have nothing new to share with your readers. IT’S NORMAL! Any blogger goes through this phase during his blogging life. Don’t panic! If you don’t feel like writing for a while, don’t! Take some time off, relax your brain, your thoughts and when ever you feel ready to get back to writing, you’ll discover a garden full of ideas!

2- Don’t say “YES” to just any brand!

bunny4

When you start taking blogging more seriously, you’ll be amazed how brands will jump to get their hands on you. Especially now in Lebanon, that bloggers are starting to have a voice and brands are starting to be more aware of that.

Brands like us and we like them too, but not just any brand! When you have reached a phase and you created an identity to your blog, some brands don’t fit in it and if you include them, you’ll be ruining your blog’s theme!

Be wise, build your own identity with time. It’s not easy, it might take a lot of time for you to really know what you really want to focus on, but you’ll get there. And when you do, stick to it!

3- Socialize!

Socializing is a crucial element in your blogging life.

You exist, behind your platform, your blog’s name, Facebook page, twitter account, Instagram filters… But people still want to know who you really are. They want to see how this person giving all those tips and tricks, looks like in real life.

This will bring you closer to your readers, you will start having deeper relationships with them, they will become your family. They will ask for things, and you will blog about them.

Not also you will keep a link with the exiting fan base, you will meet new people and your niche will grow stronger!

The purpose of socialization is to make your blog more open and attract the largest amount of readers possible.

4- Be there for others!

1

From the Oysho Yoga event!

I believe that Life is a give and take relationship. Be inspired and be inspiring.

I remember a lot of times when I had confusions, I used to asked other fellow tweeps / bloggers and we shared a lot together. This is how people grow!

5- Keep in mind your “Readers”!

Abd El Wahad 15th anniversary

Readers are the reason of your existence, that’s why you should always listen to what they tell you, and suggest to you!

Your posts should be dedicated to them, provide them with good quality, helpful posts. Reduce the text and include more visuals to keep them attracted!

In other words, if you don’t feed their appetite, they will stop coming back to you!

I hope my tips will be helpful to all the new bloggers, an I’m looking forward to know more about the blogosphere and will do my best to keep coming with attractive, and fashionable content.

Thank you all again for your support, I couldn’t make it without each and every one of you 🙂

Meet The Blogger #14: Anna and Maria from “Notre Closet”

Today’s bloggers, are two cute twins who share the same passion: Fashion, Photography and Travel.

Get to know them more here

Question 1: We know that you have a deep love for fashion, can you tell us more how it started and how you decided to have a fashion blog?

Hello 😀

We are twins that’s right, but each one had love for something: Anna always loved writing and the online community. And Maria was always good in drawing, sketching and designing. We noticed that year by year, we become a bit far from each other: we have different works, each one her own group… so we decided to create something that will bound us again: our choice was evident. We love fashion, we love photography and travel. We started our fashion blog 😀

We began the photo shoots and posts were coming up. We got amazing feedbacks that encouraged us more.  At the beginning, we wanted to share our personal style and inspirations. Post after post, we wanted to show that it is possible to stay fashionable while being on a small budget and also show that it is ok to wear your clothes over and over again – you just need to be creative and combine the right items and accessories.

Question 2: What is your favorite summer trend?

For this summer we choose crop tops and denim. We just adore those items:D

We are also in love with floral patterns and mixing prints procedure. We like the white and black neutrals and we are having fun with logo shirts 😉

Question 3: From where do you get your inspiration?

We draw inspiration from anything and everything around us: it can be people on the streets, movies, nature, art exhibitions, bloggers, TV shows and music…

Question 4: What is the one thing that you can’t leave the house without?

Anna: make up item: mascara

Other item: pen and a small notebook.

Maria: make up item: lipstick

Other item: necklace and a bar of chocolate 😛

Question 5: What are the colors that you feel more comfortable with?

Anna: I love nude light colors like pink and blue which are very trendy this year. Pastel tones. They show feminism and lot of simplicity, elegance and a chic spirit! I Love also the Leopard texture, it is really fun to play with such patterns and mix it with others.

Maria: on top of my list comes the WHITE color. I love the pastel colors as well.

Meet The Blogger #13: Aline From Nouchaline

It’s been a while since I didn’t update my #MeetTheBlogger section, but there are a lot of arising new fashion bloggers, so I decide to hunt them again 😉

Today’s blogger, is not a new blogger, she has been blogging since 2009, she’s fresh, cute and she’s shoe freak… You all know here “NOUCHALINE”.

If you haven’t seen her blog, get to know her through the questions here under…

246947_10150613941525526_752600525_18790807_8146509_n

1- How long have you been blogging?

Since the end of 2009.

2- How many hours per day do you dedicate to the blog?

At the beginning I would spend a lot of time on the blog, sometimes more than 2 hours a day. But lately with work, uni, and extra-curriculars I’ve been spending less time 😛

3- Has it been worth it so far?

Yes! I didn’t really know what to expect from the blog, but it has allowed me to meet a lot of interesting people, and to take part in and attend amazing events.

4- How many page views does your blog get daily?

Well it depends; it goes up and down a lot with new posts. But on average around 300ish views a day.

5- How many blogs do you have or write for currently?

I currently own one blog, but I have some ideas for a new

project… hopefully it works out 😛

I also contribute to the http://fashionbeirut.com/ personal style where I write about shoes.

6- How many hours do you dedicate to them every day?

I don’t blog daily, although there was a time that I did, each blog post can take anywhere from 15 minutes to 2 hours to work on.

7- Do you think one needs to post daily to be successful?

Nope. It’s better to post whenever you have a decent post instead of posting just random things daily just for the sake of posting daily.

8- Is there an ideal posting frequency?

I strive for around 3 posts a week, but I think it depends on the blog’s nature. Some of them should be updated daily, others should be updated just a couple of times a week.

9- What is the biggest blogging mistake you did?

Not planning my posts lately and updating the blog. I’ve been a bit negligent with posts this year, but I’m waiting for my summer vacation to catch up and fix things.

10- What is the biggest mistake you see in blog designs?

Too much add-ins, weird picture backgrounds, and the biggest mistake is when you can’t comment on a post!

11- Twitter is a distraction or a good promotional tool?

BOTH!

12- Do you think that any professional should have a blog?

I don’t think it’s mandatory; a person should blog because he/ she wants to and not because he/she has to.

13- If you could give an advice for a novice blogger, what would it be?

Plan your posts! I should listen to this myself 😛

14- What is the secret of your success, expressed in one word?

Keepin’ it real, that’s not one word… Shoes?

15- If you could write a post on any blog in the world, which one would you pick?

I’d love to write for Hello Giggles, Shoeperwoman, and IFB.

These are probably my favorite blogs out there, although the first is not necessarily about fashion.

Meet The Blogger #12: Lana from L’Armoire de Lana

Today’s blogger is young, and dynamic… She’s stylish, fresh and in love with fashion… Meet Lana Sahely from L’Armoire de Lana 🙂

lana

1-      Can you tell us more on how you decided to start your own blog? And why a Fashion Blog?

L’Armoire De Lana is not my first blog as I used to co-write a blog where I used to post poems, my thoughts on politics, economics and the Lebanese society. I’ve always loved writing and although I had wanted to pursue a journalist carrier, I ended up studying economics.

After completing a couple of internships in Fashion Magazines (U Magazine and Aishti Magazine), I fell in love with the work of a fashion editor and I decided to launch my own blog. It was the fastest way of owning my very own “fashion magazine” without any high costs and inconveniences. Also, nowadays everything is online and I wanted to make to mark my place on the web before the explosion of local blogs.

2- What’s your favorite fashion time period and why?

I love the late 1920s-beginning 1930s because it was like a short period of glory right after the first world war and everyone was into very daring parties, love of fashion and accessorizing. Opulence was the rule for dressing up. The fringes, the headbands, the embroidered short dresses, the shimmery kitten heels, the curled-up hair and the pink lipstick. The Great Gatsby is the best example of that fashion time period.

3- Describe your style in 5 words?

I tend to dress according to my mood so my style greatly varies. I could say: ecclesiastic, refined, sometimes classic, sometimes crazy and surprising.

4- Who/What influences your style the most?

My mother is my greatest influence in fashion, I grew up greatly affected by her picks and by her love for everything that has beauty (whether it’s fashion, food, furniture, art, etc.).

I also read a lot of magazines and international blogs every single day so it inspires me to try new things. Sometimes, I can be walking in the street and see a graffiti that surprises it and me can make me want to wear a specific piece. Inspiration is everywhere, as Coco Chanel once said fashion is everywhere.

5- What are your 4 fashion staples for winter?

For this winter, I would say: a bright purse, a pair of modern combat boots, a patterned pencil skirt and a brimmed hat.

G2 Mobile by LG

I was invited a while ago, to the G2 #Tweetup by LG Lebanon, at the Hangout Beirut, to introduce to us the new G2 mobile phone.

LG_G2

Here are some of the features that I liked in it;

5.2″ full HD IPS Display

See imagery in vibrant color and clarity. G2’s 5.2″ Full HD IPS display gives you a superior visual experience with true-to-nature colors, sharp text, high-definition details, and a cinema-like 16:9 aspect ratio.

Its rich, 423 pixels-per-inch resolution shows off every detail, and its Full HD IPS display gives you bright whites and more accurate, lifelike color representation without over-saturation or eye strain. So, whether you’re watching a nature show in Full HD, viewing a portrait set against a true-blue sky, or shopping for shoes in the perfect shade of red, you’ll get an authentic view of whatever you’re looking at.

13MB advanced camera

You don’t need a steady hand to get sharp pictures and smooth videos with G2. Its high-resolution, 13 MP camera features breakthrough optical image stabilization (Optical Image Stabilizer) technology, which stabilizes your focus while you hold the camera so you get less blur in photos and less shaking in videos. This feature is great for night photography too. Lower light settings require longer exposures, creating the potential for more movement to blur images—but with OIS, you can get amazing low-light shots, even if you can’t hold perfectly still.

Long Lasting Battery

G2’s 3,000 mAh SiO+ battery gives you surprising power, without compromising style, so you can keep going all day—and look good doing it.The battery’s step-design and silicon anode enables maximum storage capacity and efficiency in a super-slim size, compared to traditional Li-Ion batteries. Plus, the added GRAM chipset saves battery life with 10% less power consumption.

It also has a Guest Mode

You’re not always the only one using your phone—but with Guest Mode, you can personalize a user experience for yourself or a guest, controlling which apps and capabilities are available depending on which mode you enable. This feature lets you hand-select the home screen for yourself and a guest, such as a child or a friend, and create separate pattern locks for that user. So you can share your phone whenever you like, and your content and settings stay just how you left them.

Audio Zoom

Audio Zoom lets you zero in on a specific audio source by zooming in on your subject while recording video. Afterwards, you can hear it more clearly during playback. This unique feature uses three stereo mikes, which amplify sound from the specified angle and deemphasize the surrounding noise, so you can zoom in on the sounds you want to hear, and tune out those you don’t.

KNOCKON

A simple knocking gesture is all it takes. Just knock twice on G2 to gently wake your phone’s display without picking it up or pressing the power key. G2 senses the gesture and turns the display on.When your hands are full or when you only have a couple of taps to spare, G2 will help lessen the load.

It also has a lot of features to explore, you can check them on LG website here

And here are some pictures from the venue and the yummy food 😉
