FIVE reasons why you should wear a BENSIMON!

I’m sure all of you know the brand BENSIMON, it was available in the Lebanese market long time ago, back when I was in school and I was so happy to see it again in ABC Dbayeh and Beirut Souks, it brought back so many memories…

More than a style, Bensimon became through the years a Lifestyle. Bensimon Collection wants to enhance the personality of everyone in offering the possibility to express himself through endless colorful combinations and where the black has no place.

The Bensimon shoe became a classic, with celebrities and VIPs including Brigitte Bardot, Sophie Marceau, Jane Birkin and Naomi Watts all contributing to the legend.

The Bensimon was inspired by the surplus army canvas sneakers and immediately became a must-have in women’s wardrobes. They are recognizably the iconic French sneaker, actually they became the quintessential French wardrobe piece.

The Bensimon is available in a wide variety of colors, from basic colors like beige, light grey, to yellow, blue, green, red, pink…

Meet The Blogger #13: Aline From Nouchaline

It’s been a while since I didn’t update my #MeetTheBlogger section, but there are a lot of arising new fashion bloggers, so I decide to hunt them again 😉

Today’s blogger, is not a new blogger, she has been blogging since 2009, she’s fresh, cute and she’s shoe freak… You all know here “NOUCHALINE”.

If you haven’t seen her blog, get to know her through the questions here under…

1- How long have you been blogging?

Since the end of 2009.

2- How many hours per day do you dedicate to the blog?

At the beginning I would spend a lot of time on the blog, sometimes more than 2 hours a day. But lately with work, uni, and extra-curriculars I’ve been spending less time 😛

3- Has it been worth it so far?

Yes! I didn’t really know what to expect from the blog, but it has allowed me to meet a lot of interesting people, and to take part in and attend amazing events.

4- How many page views does your blog get daily?

Well it depends; it goes up and down a lot with new posts. But on average around 300ish views a day.

5- How many blogs do you have or write for currently?

I currently own one blog, but I have some ideas for a new

project… hopefully it works out 😛

I also contribute to the personal style where I write about shoes.

6- How many hours do you dedicate to them every day?

I don’t blog daily, although there was a time that I did, each blog post can take anywhere from 15 minutes to 2 hours to work on.

7- Do you think one needs to post daily to be successful?

Nope. It’s better to post whenever you have a decent post instead of posting just random things daily just for the sake of posting daily.

8- Is there an ideal posting frequency?

I strive for around 3 posts a week, but I think it depends on the blog’s nature. Some of them should be updated daily, others should be updated just a couple of times a week.

9- What is the biggest blogging mistake you did?

Not planning my posts lately and updating the blog. I’ve been a bit negligent with posts this year, but I’m waiting for my summer vacation to catch up and fix things.

10- What is the biggest mistake you see in blog designs?

Too much add-ins, weird picture backgrounds, and the biggest mistake is when you can’t comment on a post!

11- Twitter is a distraction or a good promotional tool?

12- Do you think that any professional should have a blog?

I don’t think it’s mandatory; a person should blog because he/ she wants to and not because he/she has to.

13- If you could give an advice for a novice blogger, what would it be?

Plan your posts! I should listen to this myself 😛

14- What is the secret of your success, expressed in one word?

Keepin’ it real, that’s not one word… Shoes?

15- If you could write a post on any blog in the world, which one would you pick?

I’d love to write for Hello Giggles, Shoeperwoman, and IFB.

These are probably my favorite blogs out there, although the first is not necessarily about fashion.

Poise Design Sweet Extravaganza Spring/Summer 2014

About two weeks ago, Poise Design hosted a private presentation of its Spring Summer 2014 collection at La Posta, Achrafieh.

The new collection perfectly translates the designer’s philosophy. The designs are fresh and young, inspiring from the most delicious treat to the eye – desserts. It is a combination of ingredients that harmoniously come together to create an unforgettable feeling: the grand finale that has the power to make or break an entire meal, and its impact will last the longest.

This is the philosophy used with every pair, bringing together fluffy, colorful and playful dessert-inspired undertones with high-end materials and the setting was beautiful, simply perfect for a sweet and romantic macaroons and champagne afternoon.

The event also revealed the brand’s first collaboration with prominent fashion and lifestyle blogger and stylist, Lana El Sahely from She styled the MERINGUE sandals an iconic pair of POISE DESIGN flats, using metallic pink gold, gold and patent nude pink leathers. Her ‘Meringue a l’or rose’ is your perfect pair of flats to match your day/night summer looks.

All the collection is amazing, but my favorite pair was this golden majestic shoe

Fashion Styling For Men – I

I have started recently to include more fashion news and updates for men, because I believe style is not only for women.

In today’s post, I’m gonna share with you an outfit I styled at ForeAndAft., the trendiest men’s shop in Mar Mkhayel.

I like simple and chic style for men, and have a preference for the color blue, so I mixed these items together:

ForeAndAft 008

ForeAndAft 010

I styled the diadora shoes with red and green in order not to keep the colors of the outfit monotonous.

These are the brands I used for this outfit:

Diadora Heritage shoes
40 WEFT cargo trousers
Fausto Colato buffalo belt
Alessandro Gherardi shirt
Plusultra Milano sweater
Stewart Leather jacket Testa di Moro

With the high temperature during the day, you can only wear the shirt, and at night you could add the sweater and the jacket if needed.

What do you think of the outfit?

Would you opt for this style?

Men’s Fashion: The « cross-training » sneakers by LANVIN

Travels, adventures… The Lanvin man hurries towards his destiny as if he were on the run, with a backpack, a giant orange Doctor Bag or numerous cross-training sneakers in new colors and materials.

The new star of the Lanvin shoes is the cross-training sneaker. Its modern look is created using a patchwork of luxurious materials with a couture finish: using nine differently treated varieties, the leather combines both discreet and overtly bright colors. Grained and smooth calf, calf with metallic cubes, rubberized calf, grained goat, mesh, technical fabrics, plastic inserts… The series includes seven different designs.

Introducing: ESPOSA

ESPOSA is not just a bridal atelier, it’s a bridal salon for upscale, sophisticated brides from around the world.

ESPOSA offers a wide selection of gowns from top of the line bridal designers in an intimate salon setting. ESPOSA bridal collection captures all of the whimsy, romance and ethereal beauty of “fairy tale princesses”.

Wonderful and sumptuous gowns designed by Vera Wang, Rosa Clara, Zuhair Murad, Marchesa,  Esposacouture, La Sposa, Oscar de la Renta & Monique Lhuillier … just to name a few, are awaiting every bride-to-be, to offer her all the choices she needs to find what she desires… the dress of her dreams!

I had the chance to visit their branch in Down Town and have a close look on their collection, I even tried some of the dresses and got the advice of their fashion consultants, who were really helpful and helped me find the shape of the dress that suits my body type the best.

The first dress that I tried was by Rosa Clara

This dress is A line cut, just like the A shape, it has a high waist and fluffy all the way touching the ground. I loved the dress… but as you can see, it’s not suitable for my body type, it shows my upper part so small.

This type of dress (A line) is suitable for tall ladies.

For the brides to be, you have to pay attention, on not to confuse this type of dresses with the Princess cut, who goes well for the medium, to tall ladies.

The second dress I tried, is also by Rosa Clara

This dress is also A line but with a dropped waist. It could go for my body type, but not the perfect match. This cut is not at all advised for the pear-shaped brides.

The third dress I tried was also by Rosa Clara

This dress is also an A line cut, but with a low waist, this cut is also called the joker cut. It fits all body types, petite, large, tall…

This is the dress that was perfect on me, my body didn’t appear dis-proportioned, my belly was gone and I loved the small dentelles sleeves.

The fourth dress I tried, was by Lazaro

This dress is the typical Princess cut or some call it also Ballgown cut, with a high waist.

It also doesn’t suit my body type, it goes perfect for tall ladies.

As you can see, it’s not an easy job to go and find the perfect dress for your big day, and to complete it, you also have to find the right shoes.

It is advised that the bride’s shoes should have a double sole from the front and a wide sole from the back, maximum 8 to 10 cm, to help her last all night.

And if you’re having a wedding in the garden, you could also wear wedge sandals to make your night more comfortable.

I fell in love with the store, the dresses… The fashion consultants were so adorable and explained in details so I can communicate the information to you dear readers.

I hope my post was helpful for you and congrats for all the newly wed couples 🙂
