Monday Office Look

The storm is gone, the sun is shining again and i’m back to wearing pants.

I missed my shirts and my gilets, took the time to iron them yesterday, and got today’s outfit all calculated in my mind!

I matched my classical black pants by Med available at GS Stores, with my grey shirt from LTB By Littlebig available at BigStar Shops, and my black gilet from Tally Weijl.

To add a chic touch, I had my striped hat on from Mango

But what upsets me is that after taking the time to iron the shirt, you wear it for like 5 minutes and it’s a kaput again 😦 Does it happen to you?

If you’re wondering why my hand is always in the way in my pictures lately, it’s because I’m taking my own photos. I find it a fun way, to improve my photography skills and to distract me from my fear of the cam!

Happy Monday everyone!

Hair Care: Elixir Concentré De Nutrition By DESSANGE

A while ago, I was at the supermarket buying my shampoo and I took a look at the hair products available. I wanted to find something to nourish my hair, but without giving me the feeling of greasiness.

I am fond of DESSANGE products, so I took my time checking their hair care range, and I found this ultimate gesture of care from their tailored care program, “The Elixir Concentré De Nutrition”.

photo 1_1

Formulated with smoothing agents, “The Elixir Concentré De Nutrition” without rinsing, is enriched with 2 rich oils, primrose and sesame. Its creamy and velvety formula infuses the dry ends with moisture to feed them intensively and reshape your hair without weighting it down.

How to apply?

After finishing your shower, comb your hair and then apply two to three drops on the tips of your hair and the very dry areas, rub gently massaging with your fingertips. Do not rinse! Just dry your hair afterwards.

Don’t forget to shake it before use!

What I liked about this product?

I have greasy hair and I don’t like the leave in products, because of their heavy texture that makes me uncomfortable. But “The Elixir Concentré De Nutrition” has a very soft texture and smell, it mixes with the hair quickly adding a nice sweet smell.

Intensely nourished, day after day, your hair regains volume, extreme softness and shine. You’ll enjoy smooth and silky hair!

Do you use hair serum?

Did you test any of DESSANGE products?

Swiss Ball Hamstring Curl

I started a new workout plan a month and a half ago at Healthy Lifestyle, and from the exercises I have in my plan is the Swiss ball hamstring curl.

To begin, I was scared of the ball because of a previous funny incident that I had when I went to the gym with my sister in Germany, I got a big ball to train with and I got stuck on it! Yup, I did!

So it took me a while to get friendly with the ball again, not to mention that this move needs a lot of focus to keep your balance. It was really hard for me at the beginning, but with time I can do 20 of it 🙂

How to do it:

  • Lie on your back with a Swiss ball by your feet.
  • Place your heels on the ball and raise your hips so that your body forms a straight line from shoulders to ankles.
  • Brace your core and roll the ball towards you.
  • Squeeze your hams at the top and lower under control

Benefits:

This move specifically isolates your hamstrings to maximize muscle exhaustion at the end of the set and improve strength gains. Because the Swiss ball is an unstable surface, your core will also have to work hard to control the movement.

STRONGER STRIDES

Your hamstrings pull your heels back toward your butt, while your glutes extend your legs back. Training both can lengthen your stride and offer more power to every push-off.

BETTER BALANCE

Many hamstring exercises also challenge your stability. The result is a body that can recover quickly when knocked off-balance.

HEALTHIER KNEES

Your anterior-cruciate ligaments (ACLs) rely on your hamstrings to help them stabilize your knees whenever the knees bend while decelerating. Having a strong set of hamstrings can help your ACLs do their job and lower your risk of injury.

Are you familiar with this exercise?

Breakfast At Al Mandaloun Café

I went for a ladies breakfast at Al Mandaloun Café in Dbayeh. It became of a ritual, whenever my friends & I have a cause to celebrate something, we just drive there. This time we were celebrating the start of a successful, golden New Year!

We fell in the love with the place because the interior is so friendly and cozy, we almost feel at home. The burgundy used on the furniture, gives the place a warmer feeling, the lanterns and the watches on the wall gives it a unique touch.

What’s also interesting is that Al Mandaloun Café offers a breakfast buffet that is filled with different choices of cheese, labne, ham, eggs, vegetables, croissant, cakes, bread, juice …

I always order a special omelette with cheese, bacon and herbs and I mix orange and carrot juice for a boost effect. And my favorite part comes with the cakes, there’s a special one that is juiced, not sure what it’s called, but it’s heaven for me!

They have a little boutique, where you can buy cute teapots, and different alcohol kinds.

For the Christmas season, they had cookies and gingerbread cakes as gifts ideas for your loved ones.

Have you been to Al Mandaloun Café?

Indoor Activities for Stormy Weather!

I had a call yesterday from an old friend Imad Bazzi asking me to go on his radio show فيا و ما فيا on Al Jadeed FM (90.3 FM) suggesting activities to be done indoors during the stormy weather.

fyawmafya

These are the activities I suggested:

– Go to the Mall:

shopping

For the shopping addicts out there, the stormy weather won’t stand behind you and your favorite shops. You can choose the closest mall to your location and wander for a long time… you won’t even feel the wind nor the rain 😉

– Go the Movies:

movies

For the movies geeks out there, you can always enjoy the latest movies in cinemas! Movie theaters are well heated, and you can enjoy your movie with your cheese and caramel popcorn 😉

– Go for a Coffee/ Tea:

If you’re just in the mood for sitting back, doing nothing, hanging around with your besties, the best thing you can do is head to your favorite cafe and chill out. You can also bring your favorite book or laptop.

– Go to the Gym:

gym

Yup, I can hear you saying, Nooo it’s too cold!

But No, i’m a gym freak and I also enjoy the gym in winter. Believe me, lifting weights will heat your body up making you forget all about the wind and hail outside!

– Just stay at Home!

If you’re too lazy, and don’t feel like getting out of your pajamas, you can always stay at home, watch your favorite DVD, enjoy your favorite wine and roast some chestnuts.

I can’t get enough of chestnuts? Do you?

Do you have any other activities in mind?

I would love to hear how you’re spending your time during this stormy weather!

5 Things I learned From The Dressember Challenge!

For all those who were following my pictures on Instagram, saw the dresses I wore during the whole month of December.

For those who missed it, you can check my introductory post about the Dressember 2014 challenge here and the last dress I wore here.

And this is what I learned from this wonderful challenge:

1 – I love dresses, I find them so easy to wear. And since I was deciding which dress to wear the night before, I managed to sleep 5 minutes more in the morning 😛 and it helped me become a more organized person.

2 – Pantyhoses should be created in a way to make the lives of women much easier. It would be great if it can be indicated which is the front side, which is the backside (Only Marie France had a sign). Because sometimes when it goes wrong, it can make your life hell trying to figure out how to wear it the right way…And with all the technologies out there, can’t they make the sheer pantyhoses unbreakable?!?!

3 – I discovered new fans to my blog, and we actually exchanged opinions about my dresses and we agreed that brown doesn’t look so good on me. Black and Red are the colors that suit me best!

4 – By adding accessories, like cardigan, scarves, hats, and different pantyhoses each time, the dress looked completely different. ==> If you get creative with the items you have in your closet, you won’t need to buy a lot of new items each season. Keep your money for the sales period 😉

5 – People are willing to collaborate and especially when it’s for a good cause. I was so happy to meet the creative Sarah Bond and had the pleasure to wear her signature Electric Thoughts dress!

Here’s a quick roundup of all the dresses I wore

I hope you enjoyed my Dressember challenge this year!

Would you join me next year?

Dressember Day 30 In Collaboration With Sarah Bond

Today is the last day of my Dressember 2014 challenge, if you don’t know what it is, you can check my previous post here.

I kept the best dress for the last, as it’s a reveal of a collaboration with the creative Sarah Bond, you can see her latest work that she showcased in the Christmas trunk show that she did in White Sur White here.

I loved her collection and for today I chose a dress that spoke to me with its vibrant colors and fit cut.

I chose this one shouldered / strapless ready to wear dress, bleu gitane with a touch of yellow (my favorite color <3) that is pleasant to wear, comfortable, elegant and attractive!
