5 Things I learned From The Dressember Challenge!

For all those who were following my pictures on Instagram, saw the dresses I wore during the whole month of December.

For those who missed it, you can check my introductory post about the Dressember 2014 challenge here and the last dress I wore here.

And this is what I learned from this wonderful challenge:

1 – I love dresses, I find them so easy to wear. And since I was deciding which dress to wear the night before, I managed to sleep 5 minutes more in the morning ūüėõ and it¬†helped me become a more organized person.

2 – Pantyhoses should be created in a way to make the lives of women much easier. It would be great if it can be indicated which is the front side, which is the backside (Only Marie France had a sign). Because sometimes when it goes wrong, it can make your life hell trying to figure out how to wear it the right way…And with all the technologies out there, can’t they make the sheer pantyhoses unbreakable?!?!

3 – I discovered new fans to my blog, and we actually exchanged opinions about my dresses and we agreed that brown doesn’t look so good on me. Black and Red are the colors that suit me best!

4 – By adding accessories, like cardigan, scarves, hats, and different pantyhoses¬†each time, the dress looked completely different. ==> If you get creative with the items you have in your closet, you won’t need to buy a lot of new items each season. Keep your money for the sales period ūüėČ

5 – People are willing to collaborate and especially when it’s for a good cause. I was so happy to meet the creative Sarah Bond and had the pleasure to wear her¬†signature Electric Thoughts dress!

Here’s a quick roundup of all the dresses I wore

I hope you enjoyed my Dressember challenge this year!

Would you join me next year?

Dressember Day 30 In Collaboration With Sarah Bond

Today is the last day of my Dressember 2014 challenge, if you don’t know what it is, you can check my previous post here.

I kept the best dress for the last, as it’s a reveal of a collaboration with the creative Sarah Bond, you can see her latest work that she showcased in the Christmas trunk show that she did in White Sur White¬†here.

I loved her collection and for today I chose a dress that spoke to me with its vibrant colors and fit cut.

I chose this one shouldered / strapless ready to wear dress, bleu gitane with a touch of yellow (my favorite color <3) that is pleasant to wear, comfortable, elegant and attractive!

Shall I take the Dressember challenge this year?

If you’ve been following me since a while, you surely know that in 2012 I took the Dressember challenge and wore nothing but dresses during all month!

Day1_2012

Dressember Day 1 – 2012

But you will ask me what’s the purpose of it?

Dressember uses fashion to advocate for women who’ve been exploited for their femininity. As women take on the creative challenge of wearing a dress for the 31 days of December, they are advocating for the inherent dignity of all women.

Dressember exists to inspire and empower a global community of like-minded women who are locking arms to face one of the greatest injustices of our time.

The heart of Dressember is dignity– that every woman has the right to live a vibrant and free life.

So what do you think, shall I take the challenge again this year?

I will be checking the votes by the end of the day to decide!

For more information about the Dressember challenge you can check the Facebook page, twitter account and Instagram.

Splendid dinner at Mayrig!

I have been planning to visit Mayrig for a while now, until I went last week, to celebrate the birthday of my dear Armenian friend P.

Mayrig is a beautiful stone house located in the middle of Gemmayze. It is an Armenian restaurant that adapts the popular classics of Armenian cuisine, while generously borrowing from Lebanese and other Mediterranean influences.

In their menu, their chef uses spicy ingredients and dewy-fresh harvests from the entire region, to deliver their clients delicately hand-crafted creations

My friends and I tried a combination of the appetizers and main dishes. We had the Armenian tabboule, Itch, the famous Lahm Bi Ajin, Divine Su Beurek, Mouhammara, Manteh and Fishne Kebab. And of course we ended it up with different flavors of their delicious ice cream.

The interior¬†setting is so¬†charming and relaxing, it will make you wanna come back for more…

Until next time…

Have you been to Mayrig? Do you like Armenian food?

CCCL Sunset Rendez-vous at Amethyste!

I’m starting today’s post with a simple and touching¬†quote:

‚ÄúThere is nothing more beautiful than someone who goes out of their way to make life beautiful for others.‚ÄĚ ‚Äē Mandy Hale, The Single Woman: Life, Love, and a Dash of Sass

And this how the Children Cancer Center Lebanon (CCCL) organized two days ago an Elite VIP event that was held at the Amethyste Lounge in Phoenicia Intecontinental Beirut for a noble cause

SUNSET RENDEZVOUS”
Where Fashion meets Passion for a Noble Cause

The first Global Party Elite VIP’s event in Lebanon included a Fur Fashion show by G. Nasrallah and a Walk-in Closet by International Lebanese Designer Georges Hobeika,¬†in addition to live entertainment, and live food stations.

The fur collection was nice, my favorite was the white one with a bit of grey. But I felt bad for the models, it was too hot and they had to walk a long way, between the people, wearing them :S

The Georges Hobeika collection was interesting too, his dresses are  chic yet simple, with a lot of vibrant colors and different textures.

Attendants had the chance to benefit from a discount when purchasing any item of the collection and at the same time supporting the children of CCCL.

It was nice to attend such an event, and to meet fellow bloggers, PR and friends.

I think it’s a nice initiative and I encourage everyone to support the CCCL center in any way they can.

The dress I was wearing is from “Ma Petite Boutique” in Achrafieh
