Breakfast At Al Mandaloun Café

I went for a ladies breakfast at Al Mandaloun Café in Dbayeh. It became of a ritual, whenever my friends & I have a cause to celebrate something, we just drive there. This time we were celebrating the start of a successful, golden New Year!

We fell in the love with the place because the interior is so friendly and cozy, we almost feel at home. The burgundy used on the furniture, gives the place a warmer feeling, the lanterns and the watches on the wall gives it a unique touch.

What’s also interesting is that Al Mandaloun Café offers a breakfast buffet that is filled with different choices of cheese, labne, ham, eggs, vegetables, croissant, cakes, bread, juice …

I always order a special omelette with cheese, bacon and herbs and I mix orange and carrot juice for a boost effect. And my favorite part comes with the cakes, there’s a special one that is juiced, not sure what it’s called, but it’s heaven for me!

They have a little boutique, where you can buy cute teapots, and different alcohol kinds.

For the Christmas season, they had cookies and gingerbread cakes as gifts ideas for your loved ones.

Have you been to Al Mandaloun Café?

Indoor Activities for Stormy Weather!

I had a call yesterday from an old friend Imad Bazzi asking me to go on his radio show فيا و ما فيا on Al Jadeed FM (90.3 FM) suggesting activities to be done indoors during the stormy weather.

fyawmafya

These are the activities I suggested:

– Go to the Mall:

shopping

For the shopping addicts out there, the stormy weather won’t stand behind you and your favorite shops. You can choose the closest mall to your location and wander for a long time… you won’t even feel the wind nor the rain 😉

– Go the Movies:

movies

For the movies geeks out there, you can always enjoy the latest movies in cinemas! Movie theaters are well heated, and you can enjoy your movie with your cheese and caramel popcorn 😉

– Go for a Coffee/ Tea:

If you’re just in the mood for sitting back, doing nothing, hanging around with your besties, the best thing you can do is head to your favorite cafe and chill out. You can also bring your favorite book or laptop.

– Go to the Gym:

gym

Yup, I can hear you saying, Nooo it’s too cold!

But No, i’m a gym freak and I also enjoy the gym in winter. Believe me, lifting weights will heat your body up making you forget all about the wind and hail outside!

– Just stay at Home!

If you’re too lazy, and don’t feel like getting out of your pajamas, you can always stay at home, watch your favorite DVD, enjoy your favorite wine and roast some chestnuts.

I can’t get enough of chestnuts? Do you?

Do you have any other activities in mind?

I would love to hear how you’re spending your time during this stormy weather!

Woman Rider with Harley Davidson!

Harley-Davidson has seen an increase in Women Riders in the region over the past few years, and today Maya Nabhani from Lebanon is going to share with us her passion for Harley-Davidson.

Maya Nabhani Zeidan_1

1- Since when have you been riding a Harley-Davidson? And which one do you own?

I have been riding for almost two years. I own a 1972 Sportster.

2- Have you always wanted to have a motorcycle? And where did you learn to ride one?

The passion for motorcycles began when my husband bought a Harley and I started riding as a passenger. I learned to ride with a trainer here in Lebanon.

3- How does it feel when you are having a Harley-Davidson ride?

It is one of the most liberating feelings in the world. I feel that I am on cloud nine: one with the road and the wind. It gives me clarity and I can hear my own thoughts.

4- Where was the longest ride that you ever had?

The longest would have to be those I have joined for the Lebanon Tours.

5- Do you think your life has improved since you started riding a Harley-Davidson?

Definitely! In addition to the exhilarating feeling of riding a Harley and the joy it entails, I have met many people/friends who would have never crossed my path if it weren’t for Harley.

The Sportster is a line of motorcycles produced continuously since 1957 by the Harley-Davidson Motor Company.

Sportster motorcycles are powered by a four-stroke, 45 degree V-twin engine in which both connecting rods, of the “fork and blade” or “knife & fork” design, share a common crank pin. The original Sportster engine was the Iron-head engine, which was replaced with the Evolution engine in 1986.

Are you a Harley-Davidson fan? Do you own one?

I would love to hear your stories!

A Joyous Week-end!

I have bought a deal from Scoopcity for Mir Amin Palace a while ago, and on purpose made the reservation in November, because it’s my birthday and I always wanted to spend my birthday in this magical palace!

And to make my week-end even better, I got the opportunity to have the Renalut Captur for a test drive from Bassoul Hneine! How awesome can it get? 😉

I passed by Bassoul Hneine on Saturday morning, was well received by their team in the new, revamped showroom in Sed El Bauchrieh, had all the instructions about the crossover and was ready to go!

Passed by my friend M. whose birthday was also a while ago, and off we went for the most pleasant, and peaceful ride ever!

We weren’t very sure about the way we need to take, but we weren’t frustrated, because the new Renault‘s satellite navigation system with touch screen was to the rescue! I entered our location and our destination, and we were guided all the way!

There wasn’t much traffic that day and in no time we arrived to the magical palace, just in time to rest a bit and watch the sunset fade away…

Then we enjoyed an exquisite dinner in their Arabic restaurant. We so wanted to enjoy the rest of the night in their Cave, but we were both drained and sleepy, we missed it!

Then woke up early to catch the amazing weather and have a stroll next to the palace, admiring the wonderful nature…

Afterwards, we sat outside, under the sun to get some vitamin D and enjoy the Lebanese breakfast

We got lucky to have the sun shining during this period, the palace was crowded with people and our stay was really relaxing. It was very hard to say goodbye to this amazing palace, that will always keep me dreaming of the next visit…

The way back to Beirut, was also very smooth, the Captur is certainly a distinctive compact SUV.

As the Captur is based on the Renault Clio, there’s plenty in common between the vehicles. The front end is especially impressive, with a gigantic diamond badge dominating the whole front end of the car. The side features the same sort of character lines as the Clio, with the lower door trim creating the impression of an arched back. The back is strikingly similar to that of the Clio Sport Tourer (the new one), but the cut of the rear quarter glass is much more dynamic.

The Captur achieved a 5-star rating at the 2013 EuroNCAP tests. Between its standard safety equipment it has three-point seat belts, two airbags, cruise control, speed limiter, ESC, ABS and audible and visual seat belt reminder warnings

The Renault Captur is a comfortable car, economical and easy to drive. Love the look of it and the two-tone color schemes available are stunning.

How do you like to spend your week-ends?

Do you share the same passion for Mir Amin Palace?

Did you get the chance to check the Renault Captur?

Splendid dinner at Mayrig!

I have been planning to visit Mayrig for a while now, until I went last week, to celebrate the birthday of my dear Armenian friend P.

Mayrig is a beautiful stone house located in the middle of Gemmayze. It is an Armenian restaurant that adapts the popular classics of Armenian cuisine, while generously borrowing from Lebanese and other Mediterranean influences.

In their menu, their chef uses spicy ingredients and dewy-fresh harvests from the entire region, to deliver their clients delicately hand-crafted creations

My friends and I tried a combination of the appetizers and main dishes. We had the Armenian tabboule, Itch, the famous Lahm Bi Ajin, Divine Su Beurek, Mouhammara, Manteh and Fishne Kebab. And of course we ended it up with different flavors of their delicious ice cream.

The interior setting is so charming and relaxing, it will make you wanna come back for more…

FIVE Things I’ve Learned From My FIVE Years Of Blogging!

Happy Monday everyone!

My day started as normal, having my cup of tea, checking my e-mails, social media channels… Until a lovely e-mail popped into my inbox:

Bonjour Chanty,

Votre blog fête ses 5 ans aujourd’hui !

I smiled and remembered the first day when I hit the button “Creer Votre Blog”.

Back then, I had no idea what a blog is, which platform to choose, how much effort it needed, how to sculpt it, create a fan base, get new ideas… I was clueless!

I remembered how my friend M. was there for me, encouraging me to write and always interacting with me. I remembered the awesome tweeps, who stood by me, helped me when I had a question, favorited and RTed my posts. I remembered that sometimes, I got ideas block and questioned myself if I should stop blogging. But you, my dear readers, were my strength, you gave me hope, courage and confidence! Each time I’m on the streets and someone stops me asking me if I’m Le Blog De Chanty, it gives me pride, and it assures me that I shouldn’t stop Blogging!

Here are 5 things that I have learned from my journey till today!

1- Don’t worry about Blogger’s Block!

who wore it best!

Who wore it best!

You will pass by days, you feel your head is empty, you have nothing to talk about, you have nothing new to share with your readers. IT’S NORMAL! Any blogger goes through this phase during his blogging life. Don’t panic! If you don’t feel like writing for a while, don’t! Take some time off, relax your brain, your thoughts and when ever you feel ready to get back to writing, you’ll discover a garden full of ideas!

2- Don’t say “YES” to just any brand!

bunny4

When you start taking blogging more seriously, you’ll be amazed how brands will jump to get their hands on you. Especially now in Lebanon, that bloggers are starting to have a voice and brands are starting to be more aware of that.

Brands like us and we like them too, but not just any brand! When you have reached a phase and you created an identity to your blog, some brands don’t fit in it and if you include them, you’ll be ruining your blog’s theme!

Be wise, build your own identity with time. It’s not easy, it might take a lot of time for you to really know what you really want to focus on, but you’ll get there. And when you do, stick to it!

3- Socialize!

Socializing is a crucial element in your blogging life.

You exist, behind your platform, your blog’s name, Facebook page, twitter account, Instagram filters… But people still want to know who you really are. They want to see how this person giving all those tips and tricks, looks like in real life.

This will bring you closer to your readers, you will start having deeper relationships with them, they will become your family. They will ask for things, and you will blog about them.

Not also you will keep a link with the exiting fan base, you will meet new people and your niche will grow stronger!

The purpose of socialization is to make your blog more open and attract the largest amount of readers possible.

4- Be there for others!

1

From the Oysho Yoga event!

I believe that Life is a give and take relationship. Be inspired and be inspiring.

I remember a lot of times when I had confusions, I used to asked other fellow tweeps / bloggers and we shared a lot together. This is how people grow!

5- Keep in mind your “Readers”!

Abd El Wahad 15th anniversary

Readers are the reason of your existence, that’s why you should always listen to what they tell you, and suggest to you!

Your posts should be dedicated to them, provide them with good quality, helpful posts. Reduce the text and include more visuals to keep them attracted!

In other words, if you don’t feed their appetite, they will stop coming back to you!

I hope my tips will be helpful to all the new bloggers, an I’m looking forward to know more about the blogosphere and will do my best to keep coming with attractive, and fashionable content.

Thank you all again for your support, I couldn’t make it without each and every one of you 🙂

Exploring Terrebrune Hotel!

Part of the Live Love Lebanon campaign, I’ll be discovering and sharing with you, nice new places in the different regions of Lebanon.

live love lebanon

I decided one day, with my friend M, to go visit a peaceful and charming place in Lebanon, Fakra.

You might say that the way is long, and it’s too far, but the road trip is totally worth it!

We were heading to one of the most fascinating, attractive and relaxing hotels: Terrebrune Hotel!

terrebrune 011

Terrebrune Hotel is located near the Roman ruins of Fakra; it is no wonder that this hotel offers some of the most spectacular views of the area.

Common spaces and almost every room of this hotel benefit from this privileged location, making the stay at Terrebrune simply captivating.

Constructed in the 2004; the use of stone in construction does give the hotel an alpine look. Extensive wood, marble and stone merge in shades of warm and earthly colors, giving the hotel a strikingly distinctive look.

We were received very warmly and had a tour in all the parts of the hotel. It has anything that you might need from restaurant, to gym and spa, swimming pool and a lovely garden.

I was in love with the place, it’s so cozy, comfy, friendly and welcoming.

If you’re searching for a quite and relaxing place in the mountains to run away from all the city noises, it’s definitely the place to be!

Have you been to Terrebrune?

Which is your favorite place in Fakra?
