As a beauty blogger, I’m always interested in trying new luxurious products. One of the brands that I have been testing lately is the french brand Oligodermie.

Oligodermie® skin-care products have been specially developed to provide the skin with the natural ingredients it needs:
•    Trace Elements
•    Mineral Salts
•    Amino Acids
•    Vitamins
They contain highly concentrated active ingredients chosen for their different properties. They are formulated by skin type to be applied in daily use for a specific treatment.

The product that I’m going to introduce today is the “Pure Serum”

oligo_pur serum

What is a serum?

Serums are thick liquid-like products with active ingredients like vitamins and anti-oxidants that are formulated with smaller molecules so they can penetrate deep into the skin. Serums are designed to penetrate and treat various skin conditions, such as redness, dehydration or lack of firmness, wrinkles, dark spots or to brighten the skin.

Why have I chosen this specific product?

The collection of serums at Oligodermie is really wide, but since I have a combination skin type, the Pure Serum was the right one for me.

The Pure Serum penetrates deeply in our skin to give it the boost it needs, its daily hydration and the vitality it seeks.

In addition, Pure Serum contains an extract of Cornflower, plant known for its softening and refreshing properties.

For which type of skin is the Pure Serum indicated?

This light blue serum is recommended for oily skin with problems such as skin shine in excess, enlarged pores, dull and muddy complexion, redness. These imperfections often come along with sensations of discomfort related to dehydration.

Directions to use

Apply to cleansed skin before moisturizer. Wait until serum has dried on the skin before applying moisturizer

Le Blog De Chanty’s experience

I have been testing it for quite a while now, I love the texture, it’s a bit thicker then water. It’s so light, spreads easily on my skin, and doesn’t leave any sticky feeling and it dries fast. (You need every second in the morning 😉 )

I wanted to try it during winter, especially because of the redness around my nose, they were reduced a lot and now they’re gone. Plus the skin is much softer, no more cracked skin!

Have you tried any of Oligodermie products?  Do you use serum everyday?

I would love to hear your thoughts 🙂

Movie News: Heritages – Mirath

After Bosta and Under the Bombs, Philippe Aractingi releases his 3rd feature film: Heritages

On July 12, 2006, another war breaks out in Lebanon.

Director Philippe Aractingi sees himself having to leave his motherland, Lebanon, to settle elsewhere for the third time in his life. While he and his family are evacuated to France on-board a military ship, he realizes that his ancestors have also been fleeing from wars or massacres for five generations now. All of them have been exiled at least once.

The idea for his new movie Heritages (Mirath) is born. Gripped by the burning desire to tell his own children the past that is “not to be told,” Philippe sets on a journey through History to understand and pass on its lessons. Here, his ancestors’ itinerary is confronted by that of Middle Eastern history: the fall of the Ottoman Empire, the French mandate, the creation of Israel, Pan-Arabism, the Lebanese civil war and beyond.

His exploration leads him to the universal questions: Can one find peace in exile? Should we unshackle ourselves from our heritage (Mirath) to be free?

Philippe takes a radical turn in his film-making career, and experiments with a light-hearted and playful style where members of his family enact their ancestors’ lives as well as their personal ones.

Throughout the seven chapters of this “autobiographical novel,” Philippe organically interlaces directed scenes and archive images with video-filmed personal diaries, family photos and super 8 reels. We are slowly drawn into this family novel set in moving pictures, as Philippe explores a distant and familiar Levant, always linking History (Mirath) to an intimate diary.

I had the chance to watch it in the Press Premiere in ABC Achrafieh, and I was really touched by all the messages going through the movie.

I’m not gonna spoil the experience for you, and let you watch it!

What do you think of her metallic look?

Do you like the combination of accessories she did?

Introducing: LIZA Beirut

A while ago, I was invited to visit and try one of the trendiest restaurants in town “LIZA Beirut“.

Liza Beirut Photo Album_Page_01

Located in the heart of the prestigious Achrafieh district, in the hills near the
shore, the sprawling 500 sqm restaurant is housed in a historical venue.
Chafic El Khazen, founder of Sky Bar and a LIZA BEIRUT partner, discovered
this magical space on the first floor of Metropolitan Club.

The first governor of Greater Lebanon had lived there for a few years; followed by the Bustros family, who was there until 1995. According to Ziad Asseily, co-founder of the LIZA
brand, “the fact that the building was a family house, full of history and life, was
something that really resonated with us. We wanted to perpetuate through the
space’s new incarnation.”
This attitude of home, history and preservation continues behind the scenes
in the restaurant’s kitchen. Asseily claims that his primary ambition is to share
Lebanese cuisine the way he loves it: fresh, light and generous. “Through LIZA
PARIS I was able to transfer to our customers the taste of Lebanese cuisine, in
particular the classics. This is a constant challenge here and elsewhere. It is also a
learning experience, prompted by uncompromising standards in regard to quality
and fresh products.”

The restaurant maintains the structure of the Lebanese traditional houses of the 19th century; several rooms are symmetrically arranged on the three sides of a large central hall (the Dar), having a triple glazed arcade leading onto a narrow balcony. Only the doors were widened to allow more light to enter.
In order to create a sense of movement in the vast space—500 square meters (5400-square-feet) overall with 7-meter-high ceilings—a story was defined for each room.

Patterns cover the walls, creating an illustrated story. This decision was born from ceramic artists Maryline Massoud and Rasha Nawam’s highly work of tottering, burned and cracked Beirut building blocks, from a highly acclaimed exhibition that began at the Beirut Art Center in 2011 and then went on to tour worldwide. Photos of this work run on the walls in the Building Room and are reflected in the mirrors in the bar designed by Karim Chaya as well as
in the Main Room, which is styled as a hotel lobby.
The Money Room is a dimly lit space with simple wooden blinds; the atmosphere is sweet and nostalgic accented by strong, colorful custom wallpapers by the Italian designer Idarica Gazzoni featuring soil-cement tiles and enlarged ancient Lebanese Liras.
The Banana Room is a beautiful room especially designed for the large buffet brunches held on Saturdays and Sundays. Through the walls, we are taken to the Southern Lebanon through the large green banana tree leaves and the lamps evocative of Casablanca, the Michael Curtiz film starring Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman. Hubert Fattal’s giant stars hang brightly, adding sparkle to evenings at LIZA BEIRUT, just as they do in LIZA PARIS, and ultimately express Ziad and Liza Asseily’s appreciation for the sparkle of life and the talented stars around them.

If you like to enjoy your Lebanese meal in a nice and cosy place, then this is the place to try!

Sahtein everyone 🙂

‘BOY MEETS GIRLS’ is all about the boyish side in me, expressed through the tight bands and the fun oversized wires”- explained Nada Ghazal.
